Low Cost, Flexible, Accurate, Intelligent Feeders,
Quick Changeovers, Compact
& ROI
The Model M4e SMD placement system, the successor
of the innovative i-pulse M1 model, and the nearly identical
3-head twin to the 6-head M2 model, utilizes high-speed on-the-fly
vision component inspection & recognition system capable of
imaging and precisely positioning virtually any Surface Mount
Device. With the proven ability to place 0201, 0.3mm QFP,
µBGA, BGA, CSP, Connectors, and odd-form SMDs, the M4e offers
an intelligent feeder option for component
setup verification and feeder
identification to deliver the performance,flexibility,
and quality measures required for 21st century electronics
manufacturing. FASTER than competitor placement rates are
enabled by its advanced vision technology, the head-mounted,
'on-the-fly', scan
camera system and 'fly-by' stationary
camera system for larger components. Placement accuracy
of 35µm is guaranteed by the design of a rigid Monocoque frame,
that features a unique XY-axis
drive cooling system, with precision dual-drive
Y-axis servo mechanics, and servo controlled, direct-drive
Theta-rotation. Performance enhancing
options include quick feeder bank changing that increases
utilization by decreasing change-over times to as low as 60
feeders in less than 60 seconds.

Network Connectivity & Software
The user interface is Windows XP based to provide easy and
robust networking capabilities that support bi-directional
transfer of production programs, component data libraries,
and management information describing machine performance.
The easy-to-use machine vision system provides operator directed,
online teach features for automatic data acquisition of component
image data and fiducial models.
To maximize production performance and machine utilization,
the Off-Line Program system provides the ability to manage,
create, and edit programs and libraries from any authorized
computer on your network. To further cater to today's sophisticated
manufacturing processes, additional software tools such as
Line Balancer, Line Optimizer, Machine Setup Verification,
Production Rate Simulator, and CAD Conversion Utilities are
among the many performance options.
